Waterproofing is the process of making an object or structure waterproof or water-resistant so that it remains relatively unaffected by water or resisting the ingress of water under specified conditions. Waterproofing is required at concrete structures to keep moisture out of the facility and to protect the structural components of concrete and embedded reinforcing steel. If the integrity of the concrete is maintained, it can remain waterproof.
